Our City

Agourai is a small town about 30 Kms far from Meknes city.

 

It’s known for its beautiful nature and its fresh air

 

Green colour beautifies our town. Wheat fields and olive trees are everywhere .

 

The forest provides our lungs with fresh air

Fresh water is abundant in Agourai

  Agourai is also known for its historical monument , 

Kasbat Agourai.

  King Moulay Ismail built this kasbat in the 17th C

for his portuguese wife.

 

Agourai is a portuguese word. Agou means the source of water

 Rai means the king.

So , Agourai means the King’s source of water

   Our town is small , but there are banks , schools ( primary , secondary and high) , a youth center where we practise many activities such as drama , singing …,  a hospital , a municipality , a post office , cafés , markets and modern houses ...
