I- SPORTS

    Sports in Britain:
    watch the video and tell us about the sports people practise in Britain.

                                          

- Verbs collocating with soprts: play go - do.

Play is generally used for team sports, games and ball games.
  Ahmed plays football very well.

Go is generally used for sports and activities ending in –ing (but not always).  I go skiing in winter. but  I go boxing / I do boxing

Do is generally used for individual sports and fighting sports.       Sara can do Judo .

 - we use "can" to talk about ability.         *ability = القُدرة  /  الإستطاعة
    - I can play football.
    - He can drive a car.
    - She can swim.


- we use "can't" to talk about inability.            *inability = العجز
    - I can't play football.
    - He can't drive a car.
    - She can't swim.

 - Short Answers :

     - Can you play football ?
        Yes , I can.

      - Can you swim ?
        No , I can't.
